X-Bow Systems, global industry experts in advanced solid rocket motor manufacturing and launch systems, has announced an agreement to acquire Evolution Space, expanding its production capacity and hypersonic propulsion capabilities.

The acquisition, which is expected to close in March or April, will integrate Evolution Space’s solid rocket motor technologies and manufacturing operations into X-Bow’s broader platform. The transaction includes Evolution Space’s facility at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, adding to X-Bow’s existing energetics production infrastructure.

The combined capabilities are intended to support increased demand for solid rocket motors and propulsion systems, particularly in applications related to national defense and hypersonic systems development. The addition of Evolution Space’s manufacturing and testing capabilities is expected to expand X-Bow’s ability to scale production and support a wider range of propulsion applications.

Evolution Space brings experience in rapidly developing and testing solid rocket motor systems, including demonstrated hypersonic launch capabilities. Its work includes suborbital launch systems and propulsion technologies designed for responsive deployment and experimental validation.

“This strategic move is about answering our nation’s call for increased munitions production with speed and scale,” said Mark Kaufman, Chief Strategy Officer at X-Bow. “By integrating Evolution Space’s space-proven and hypersonic capabilities, X-Bow is uniquely positioned to meet the Department of War’s urgent demand for a broader range of critical applications and contribute to a more resilient national defense infrastructure.”

The acquisition also includes proprietary technologies related to propellants, igniters, and high burn-rate solid rocket motor systems. These capabilities are expected to support the development of next-generation propulsion systems and enhance performance across defense and aerospace applications.

Steve Heller, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Evolution Space and now Chief Engineer at X-Bow, added, “Joining X-Bow at this critical juncture is an exciting opportunity. Our combined strengths will drive innovation, ensure rapid, reliable production of cutting-edge propulsion systems for national security, and help revitalize American manufacturing in this crucial sector.”

X-Bow’s vertically integrated approach spans propellant development, motor design, and launch system integration. By incorporating Evolution Space’s rapid prototyping and testing expertise, the company is positioned to accelerate development cycles while maintaining scalable production.

The acquisition reflects broader efforts to expand domestic manufacturing capacity for propulsion systems and strengthen supply chain resilience within the aerospace and defense sectors.
