Microchip Technology Inc. has announced the launch of its BR235 and BR235D series electromechanical power relays. Qualified to the MIL-PRF-83536 specification and ISO-9001 certified, the new 25A hermetically sealed relays are designed for high-reliability aerospace, defense, and space applications requiring rugged performance in extreme environments.
Available in multiple configurations, the BR235 series offers design flexibility across mission-critical systems. Options include suppressed or non-suppressed models, coil voltages from 6–48 VDC and 115 VAC, various mounting styles, terminal pin formats, and contact plating finishes. The relays are offered in both 3PDT and DPDT configurations.

Engineered to withstand demanding mechanical and thermal conditions, the BR235 and BR235D relays meet test requirements for 30G vibration and 200G mechanical shock. They operate across a wide temperature range of -70°C to +125°C, making them suitable for harsh airborne and space environments.
“Microchip understands the aerospace and defense sector’s critical need for a consistent and reliable supply of high-reliability relays. Our BR235 and BR235D relays are engineered to meet the highest standards of reliability and performance for mission-critical applications,” said Leon Gross, corporate vice president of Microchip’s discrete product group.
The company brings more than 60 years of aerospace heritage to the market, offering a portfolio of microcontrollers, FPGAs, power management devices, and timing solutions for aerospace and defense customers worldwide.
The BR235 and BR235D relays are now available in production quantities. Customers may visit Microchip’s Purchasing and Client Services site or contact their local Microchip representative for ordering or additional technical information.
